Adam Simpson


Director of Youth Ministries

Adam Simpson is originally from Frankfort, KY. He played four years of college basketball at three different colleges before finishing up and graduating from Lambuth University. He spent one year playing at Lambuth and one year as an assistant coach. After graduating, he moved back to Kentucky and was an alternative school teacher for a year at Trimble County High School in Bedford, KY. He moved back to Jackson in the summer of 2007 and started working with the youth at FUMC in October of 2007. He was the Assistant Director of Youth Ministries until August of 2008 when he became the Director. He also spent the summers of 2005-2006 as a counselor at Lakeshore UMA. He is the son of Malcolm and Candace Simpson and has a younger sister, Melissa, and an older brother, Erik. Erik is married to Becky and on June 23, 2008, she gave birth to a beautiful daughter named Shelby Jean. Adam has a heart for youth ministry and loves spreading God’s love to all those around him.

Kelsey Padgett 


Intern

Kelsey is a sophmore at Lambuth University. She is orgianally from Franklin TN but attended school in Brentwood as well as fallowed her ministry through Brentwood United Methodist. Kelsey enjoys, camping, musicals, movies, music and such artists as Dave Barnes and Matt Wertz. Kelsey assists in leading worship at youth sunday nights along with organizing, copying and doing other such office work, as well as hanging out with the youth and doing the more exciting things at FUMC.

We have a great team of adults who volunteer their time and their sleep to help fulfill the mission of youth ministries at First Church. Some of these adults are parents of youth and some are not.
