Adult Sunday School Classes
10:00 - 10:50 a.m.
Sunday School is a time for coming together for Bible study, serving in missions, praying for one another, and gathering socially. Each class offers the opportunity to grow in faith through relationships with Jesus Christ, supporting, encouraging, and challenging each other in our spiritual journeys. Everyone is welcome to join any class regardless of age.
Abundant Life
A lecture/discussion format involving individual Bible research is used to study scripture passages and books of the Bible, and their application to everyday life. This class is committed to missions.
Dick Nunn
The Dick Nunn class celebrated its Golden Anniversary in 1989. Lecture-style lessons are based on scripture. At 8:30 a.m. on the first Tuesday of the month, members meet for Dutch treat breakfast at Perkins Restaurant on Vann Drive. Contribution to missions is a strong priority.

Emmaus
This class is a growing group of people who are interested in developing a stronger Christian character through scripture exploration, discussion, warm fellowship and serving others. Our doors are open to people of all backgrounds. Whether you're searching to fill a spiritual void and just starting to ask questions about God, or if you're a committed Christian who wants to sink the roots of your faith even deeper, you can find a home here.
Family Life
This class offers lively group discussions. Studies from well-known Christian scholars and theologians, practical life-application studies, offer lively discussions each week. On the 5th Sunday, the class meets jointly for Sunday School studies at The New Southern. Year round social gatherings and hands-on mission projects are integral parts of this group. The class mission is “to enhance spiritual growth, be a work force in the Church, and love and support each other.”
Followers
This class focuses on the experiences, thoughts, and concerns of 30-something couples and singles, with an emphasis on becoming followers of Christ. Bible study is enhanced by sharing and lively group discussion. Lots of social activities and mission projects bring the group together outside of church.

A casual discussion format is used to study the Bible and practical life issues and the associated Christian context. Class members take turns leading studies. Social gatherings and support of mission projects are also important.
Good Goats
Young professionals, married or single, who want to learn more about God’s word, and desire to discuss its relevance within contemporary life best describes this study group. The class name comes from the Gospel passage about the sheep and the goats, and serves as an encouragement to all who are completely fallible, but also restored in Christ, to discover the joyful life of faith.
